First Cut: My coach and I have been discussing how to classify shots that miss the fairway and end up in very short rough/first cut. My coach says that for handicap players it is actually easier to hit a ball that sits in the short rough as opposed to the fairway, particularly in summer when here in England our fairways are hard.
